Black Ginseng OEM, Private Label & Bulk Supply
Black ginseng is GEUMHEUK’s core product. For black ginseng private label and bulk supply, quality depends on how consistently the root is steamed and dried up to nine times (gujeung-gupo). We use GAP-certified Geumsan ginseng, a patented black ginseng method and our own steaming and drying equipment to supply both finished OEM products and bulk extract and powder.

Nine times steamed, nine times dried
Dried ginseng is steamed and dried up to nine times. With each round the root turns from reddish brown to deep black-brown, a browning (Maillard) reaction caused by repeated heating.
The process runs on our GAP processing line with washers, steamers, dryers and a drying yard, with temperature and time controlled from a control panel. Every lot is traced from root selection to shipment.

Black ginseng vs red ginseng
A Chungnam National University study (Korean Journal of Food Science and Technology, KCI) reported ginsenoside Rg3 about 18–20 times higher in nine-times steamed black ginseng than in red ginseng (e.g. 7.51 mg/g vs 0.37 mg/g). This is a research summary; product claims follow each country’s regulations.
| Red ginseng | Black ginseng | |
|---|---|---|
| Processing | Steamed and dried once | Steamed and dried up to 9 times |
| Color | Reddish brown | Black-brown |
| Main ginsenosides | Rb1, Rc, Rg1 | Higher Rg3, Rk1, Rg5 |
| Market | Globally known Korean ginseng | Emerging premium category |
Bulk black ginseng supply

Black ginseng OEM formats
Black ginseng works as liquid sticks and pouches, extracts, pills, powder, honeyed roots, slices and sugar-free candy. We already make these formats under our own brands (GEUMHEUK, ROOTKHAN), so your project can start from a proven formula. As a producer registered under the “Korean Black Ginseng” geographical indication (2016), we can explain both origin and process to your customers.
Frequently asked questions
Can I buy small quantities of bulk black ginseng?
Black ginseng concentrate and powder start from 500 g units. Tell us the quantity and use.
How is black ginseng different from red ginseng?
Red ginseng is steamed and dried once; black ginseng up to nine times. The repeated process darkens the root and is reported to increase ginsenosides such as Rg3, Rk1 and Rg5.
Is black ginseng private label available with a low MOQ?
It depends on format and packaging; we schedule production so you can start small.
Do you hold black ginseng patents?
Yes: a black ginseng production method with increased saponin (No. 10-1878348) and a high-temperature steaming extraction device (No. 10-2194771).
Where does the ginseng come from?
GAP-certified ginseng from Geumsan, whose traditional ginseng farming is a FAO Globally Important Agricultural Heritage System.
Do you supply bulk black ginseng for export?
Yes, and we arrange documents such as certificates of analysis.
